With the summer vanishing rapidly, the start of the 2017-2018 season is almost upon us, and our Under 9s are preparing themselves for the challenging step-up from tag to tackle rugby.
Although it can be a daunting task, which in some cases takes a little bit of cajoling and encouraging words to overcome, we’re confident that all of our select band of scholars, athletes, traction engines and downright nutters will be taking it in their stride before you know it.
So, to get everyone back in the rugby mood, to reacquaint the squad with their mates from last season, to introduce some new faces, and to try and establish again which one of the triplets is Tom, which is Jack and which is Sam, we’re kicking off pre-season this Wednesday (8th August) with a bit of circuit-training and fitness related fun.
This will then be followed up next Wednesday day-time with a Summer Camp, where the emphasis again will be on having fun, learning new skills, integrating recent additions with last season’s squad, and running off those barbecue bellies (this last one applies mostly to coaches and parents).
As always, we welcome new players of all shapes and sizes, boys and girls, and of any level of ability or experience.
Our first match is planned for Sunday 16th September, and we hope to train each Wednesday from now until May.
For info:
Under 9s training is on Wednesdays between 18:30 and 19:30, and matches are on Sunday mornings, usually with a 11:00 kick off.
For further details, please contact Nick, Phil or Jonny through the contact function on the website, or alternatively come along to training on Wednesday, see what you think, and come over for a chat.
